70 million years ago dinosaurs ruled the Korean Peninsula the same way they ruled the rest of the earth. Sejak awal kemunculannya pada tahun 1994 dulu, Detektif Conan sudah menjadi salah satu serial detektif yang ngetop di Jepang. Sudah merupakan kebiasaan bila sebuah anime tenar di Jepang, akan dirilis sebuah film layar lebar..kisah yang diangkat tidak ada dalam komik, jadi ini original story. Kisahnya dimulai saat Ran diajak Sonoko untuk menghadiri acara perkenalan Miss Japan yang baru terpilih, dan Ran mengajak Conan, serta Profesor Agasa dan Haibara Ai, dimana Profesor menggantikan Kogoro yang seharusnya diundang, tapi ia harus masuk ke rumah sakit karena alasan tertentu^^. 

Saat acara akan dimulai, ada rumor tentang surat ancaman yang dikirim untuk Miss Japan. Manajer sekaligus kakak kandung Miss Japan merasa khawatir, tapi ternyata sang Miss Japan tak takut sedikit pun, malah ia sudah menyiapkan pisau kecil yang diikatkan di paha kakinya dibalik gaun putihnya.  Acara perkenalan Miss Japan pun dimulai, ternyat di belakang panggung ada perselisihan antara Miss Japan dan pemenang ke-2 Miss Japan.

Di hall tempat acara, Conan meminta ijin untuk ke WC, walau sebenarnya ia ingin menyelidiki tentang surat ancaman tersebut. Tiba-tiba Conan merasa aneh, ia merasa akan berubah menjadi Shinichi seperti yang pernah ia alami sebelumnya. Conan pun teringat setelah ia makan kue yang diberi Ran di hall tadi, rasa sakit itu muncul, dan di hall selagi Ai makan kue, ia juga merasakan perasaan ingin berubah juga, maka ia pun berlari mencari Conan. Setelah itu mereka berdua bersembunyi di ruang ganti wanita.

Conan pun berubah menjadi Shinichi dan Ai menjadi Sherry, lantas apa yang akan terjadi?? Apakah Shinichi akan bertemu dengan Ran, dan bagaimana kisah pertemuan mereka? Dan dapatkah Shinichi mengungkap misteri surat tersebut? Ditambah lagi ternyata Gin dan anak buahnya merasa bahwa pada malam itu mereka akan menemukan Sherry, bagaiamana nasib Sherry?
